Always sad to see. I was really hoping he'd get it together. Unlike Michael's death, I saw this one coming.

As Cathy reminded me from her post on facebook...Corey Haim used to post messages on the old INXS email list under the name "Bongwater Jackson".
Back then in the mid 90's/early 2000's we all didn't post on message boards or things like facebook as we do now...we used to get lots of emails each day in our email inbox instead.
Here is an example of some of the things Corey Haim wrote in 2001...

Alrighty then. Very strange. Didn't know he was an INXSary. Makes me even sorrier that we lost one of our own. Thanks for sharing, Matt.

INXS liked being involved with 'The Lost Boys' film...which is why director Joel Schumacher directed 'Devil Inside' at Balboa Beach.
Tim Farriss loves that video with all the skating, bikies etc...while Kirk says it's his worst INXS video because it's too American looking. As they had being known for being from Australia. That's part of why they were successful in the 80's as everything Australian was cool in USA like Crocodile Dundee etc.
And the dance moves in Devil Inside were choreographed by Paula Abdul. So it was a very manufactured video clip, luckily Richard Lowenstein directed all the other Kick video clips apart from Mystify.
But Joel would later direct Batman Forever which featured Michael Hutchence on the soundtrack album.
But Corey was a fan of INXS from The Lost Boys days in 1987...

Batman Forever was a disaster. Joel Schumacher killed Batman! Devil Inside was funny I thought. Whether they meant it to be or not. That lady giving them the dirty look in the video still cracks me up 20 years later. Mystify is one of my favorites. Even more so now that Michael is gone. It's just him and Andrew sitting at piano and working on a song. I'm glad Andrew has that. Although I'm sure he has more memories like that than I'll ever know about.

Mystify was directed by Hamish Cameron...since it was just put together for the 'In Search Of Excellence' home video. Andrew and Michael are just re-creating what it was like when they wrote the song in Chicago.
If you have the Kick (Remastered edition) released by Rhino in USA in 2002 that has some bonus tracks and one of them is Mystify (Chicago Demo)...

Here's the Devil Inside video clip directed by Joel Schumacher... I actually visited the Devil Inside video location at Balboa Beach in California a number of years ago...

I was thinking about the whole Australian thing you were talking about, Matt. I must have missed it. I remember Crocodile Dundee being popular. But, that's about it. Actually, when I first heard The One Thing back in 83, I thought they were British because there were so many bands coming out of England at the time. IE. Culture Club, Duran Duran, Wham..blah blah blah. I was surprised that they were Australian. I remember Andrew saying something similar though on the LBL DVD about the Australian thing. Must have been around the time of Kick. When did Dundee come out? '86? I don't know. I've always lived in my own little world. So, what do I know? :) The Paula Abdul thing is funny though. I didn't see anything in 'Devil' that needed choreography. But, whatever.
