I watched the premiere and yes, I am very excited to hear about the new songs. My favorite footage was any time they showed Michael. I was disappointed that his mother was not in it more. I would like to hear more from his mother and sister. My least favorite part was from Rhett.
This is when he said that the only ones who knew what really happened that night was Michael and God. Leave it to Rhett to disappoint and disparage!!!
Also, I found it particularly disloyal when Rhett stated that he gets on well with Bob Geldof. This is the man who refused to let his girls and Tiger go to Australia, which led to Michael's suicide. I am a school administrator and I know exactly how much education goes on during the holidays and it isn't much with Winter Program rehearsals, ornament-making, gift-making, parties, and the like. It would have been more educational for them to see Australia. For me, and it is just MHO, Rhett is what the British commonly refer to as an "arse."
I've watched the show a couple of times (via DVD a friend recorded for me). I've also read "Just A Man" and "TotalXS". While I find it a bit disturbing that Rhett gets along with Bob, I can see it this way: at least ONE blood relative of Michael's has contact with Bob but still don't understand the motives behind it. We also need to remember the Rhett was a drug addict for many years, which I'm sure explains the inconsistancies in the books, and Rhett's bitterness after Michael passed away. I also beleive that it's true that nobody really knows what happened in the room but Michael and God. I have my own opinion, but I tend to agree with Tina and Patricia's version. I would have liked to have heard more on the show from Tina and Patricia. I am very excited about new music and the documentary. Since the documentary has been approved by the Trust (at least from what I've heard), I hope it shows Michael in a positive light.
Just my two cents...feel free to disagree with me, but we all have a common bond...we still adore Michael.
I watched the premiere and DVR'd it. I watched it again on Michael's birthday. Makes me sad. But, I am looking forward to the new music and film. Michael trusted Mr. Saber to produce his music. So, I know he'll do a good job.
