I think she took it more seriously than Michael did. But, I felt sorry for her and all of Michael's ladies when he died.

I think MH loved Kylie. When I first heard they were together I remember I thought immediately oh no this could be disaster for MH/INXS's image!
For Kylie it's well documented that MH helped transform her into a more sexy image, than her girl next door tomboy Neighbours image.
At first I think fans in Australia didn't see it as cool, especially teenage fans of MH who were probably jealous of Kylie. As that period between 1984-1991 when INXS were huge largely due to MH's popularity, as he was on the cover of all the teenage magazines like Smash Hits, Countdown etc.
The Kylie relationship had no effect in the USA as she wasnt really known over there at all.
It was really the UK that Kylie really helped get MH into the press and made the X album in the UK big, which led to INXS playing Wembley Stadium. Kylie was adored in the UK and that really helped INXS/MH, as until then the band had got really bad press in the UK, the band had even boycotted going to the UK for about 18 months because of the press.
With Kylie...MH got the taste of the tabloid UK press...it wasnt as bad with Kylie as what it would later become with Paula however. But MH was becoming better known for his relationship than his music. Which would become the trend during the 90's.
People always say how the early Kylie songs are embarassing, but I actually like her songs back then probably better than her current songs. I guess I went to the same high school as Kylie (Camberwell High) so I kinda followed her career from that early period in the 80's.
Michael and Kylie did record some songs together...if they ever saw the light of day I'm sure they would go straight to no.1!

I always took 'Suicide Blonde'/ 'Bitter Tears' as Michael telling Kylie he was moving on and that their relationship was supposed to be just fun as they had both gotten out of serious relationships. Michael said something about 'losing the plan' in Suicide Blonde. Just my take. I don't know. But, I don't think it was the same as it was with Michelle or Helena. None of my business anyway. I just have a big mouth :)

"Michael and Kylie did record some songs together...if they ever saw the light of day" - I think the word 'explode' would sum up perfectly the level of press/media interest in Michael.

Maybe 'The Trust' can help them find their way into the light? :) For the record I bought 'Locomotion'...no haters! :P I love just about everything Kylie has ever done. Who could hate Kylie?
