INXS will perform at this year's ARIA Awards - fronted by next-big-thing Dan Sultan.
Nominated for four ARIA awards, Melbourne-based Sultan will join INXS to perform their early classic Just Keep Walking at the ARIAs on November 7.
Sultan, a fan of the band's original singer Michael Hutchence, sings the track on the new INXS album Original Sin.
The album sees the iconic Australian rock band "re-imagine" their hits with a string of guest vocalists.
They include Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas (Original Sin), Train's Pat Monahan (Beautiful Girl), Eskimo Joe's Kav Temperley (To Look at You), Ben Harper (Never Tear Us Apart), British rapper Tricky (Mediate) and the band's latest singer JD Fortune on The Stairs.
John Mayer plays guitar on a remake of Mystify while Sultan's Just Keep Walking will be released shortly.
"We had to click our brains out of the old ways these songs had been branded in our head. We had to re-imagine them," said Jon Farriss, INXS drummer and the album's producer.
"It's been challenging, but it's been one of the best things I've ever done."
After negotiations with major record labels, the band will release Original Sin independently on November 8, the day after their ARIA performance.
The album has been recorded over the past two years. Several key names, including the Killers' Brandon Flowers and Australian singers Gabriella Cilmi and Vanessa Amorosi, had their contributions removed, reportedly because of record company politics.
More volumes of the concept are a possibility.
INXS, fronted by JD Fortune, will tour as part of the A Day on the Green winery concerts in February.
