   INXS has sacked singer JD Fortune for the second time.

   The Australian band is working on a new album without the charismatic Canadian vocalist.

   Fortune, who joined the band in 2005 after winning reality TV show Rockstar INXS, was hired to sing on its last tour. He only sang one tune on its last album, the guest vocalist album Original Sin.

   Now a new song, Tiny Summer, has been released on the band's website with a mystery Irish vocalist on board.

   The band is expected to release a statement on Fortune's departure this week as well as name its new singer this week.

   Fortune tweeted last month: "As of now I have not been invited to be a part of INXS's new music."

   His website, which was running last week, was offline yesterday.

   Insiders say that with yet another singer fronting the band since the death of Michael Hutchence INXS may revert to their original name The Farriss Brothers. The Original Sin album peaked at No.49 in Australia.

   Would you be happy like this article says if INXS stopped using the name INXS and went back to their original name The Farriss Bros Band? Do you think the name INXS is what is holding the band back, since Michael Hutchence was in many ways the image and focal point of INXS? Joy Division became New Order and were very successful. Or is a name change too late for the band and should have been done 14 years ago?

   No Matt I think that would damage them because the world knows the name INXS and they've worked so hard to keep it out there for 32 years. I have scoured the net since Tiny Summer was released on INXS.com and though of course there are those people who don't like it and think they should rehash the past; the larger majority including non INXS fans and reviewers like and even love the song and it seems the reason why is that it is so different and new and it sounds like finally the beginning of a new era for INXS. I strongly think the name hasn't held them back, what has is not finding the right chemistry with the vocalists fronting them; they haven't been able to be a full band of six guys, it's been five guys plus a singer. Andrew says it in his letter that "magic was in the room again" So it's been a very very long road the past 14 years because it took them that long to find the magic again. I commend them for Tiny Summer and the new singer has an amazing voice and I think as do many others now that this is the line up that will finally take them further. I'm on board and it's my hope that fans give them the chance as I believe they have well and truly earned it.

   Without Michael, but more importantly because they've released nothing of real note in 14 years to make them think otherwise, the world no longer sees that INXS exists anyway.
   Some may not like that statement, but chart positions and sales show that releases since Michael died, even greatest hits packages he's a part of, haven't re-ignited the bands profile much :-(. That is a very sad state of affairs. I think they should go on as a band, but I've no preference whether it's as INXS or TFB, theres not going to be much change in fortune (that wasn't a pun :-) ) IMHO :-(
