Old school supermodel Helena Christensen will hit the runway for a gender-bending turn in a menswear show at Melbourne's annual fashion fest.
The former Victoria's Secret beauty turned photographer will star in L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival's first men's clothing parade.
While Melbourne's own femiman Andrej Pejic won't be in town, Christensen will ensure LMFF still reflects the fashion for gender role reversal.
Christensen was the ex-girlfriend of tragic Aussie rock star and INXS frontman Michael Hutchence.
It is not known what the Danish stunner, whose most recent link to Australia was a rumoured relationship with the late actor Heath Ledger, will wear in the show during the festival, which kicks off on March 14.
The 42-year-old joins a legion of veteran glamazons making catwalk comebacks after years out of the camera glare, including Elle Macpherson for Louis Vuitton, and Claudia Schiffer for Yves Saint Laurent.
Industry rumours were off the mark with predictions another '90s supermodel, Linda Evangelista, would be LMFF's guest of honour and stride down the catwalk wearing a masculine tuxedo.
Christensen will also be here to judge the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition to find Melbourne's sexiest four-eyes.
