I have two. The first one is from the "Live Baby Live" DVD. When Michael was singing "Bitter Tears", and he had a big smile on his face, and he sang the line "I'm seeing my way for the first time in years." The way he hit those two notes on the words "in years" was somehow so cool. I've been trying to do that ever since. The second one is from a concert in Seattle, WA in 1994, on the "Full Moon, Dirty Hearts" tour. I managed to make it into the second row, which I probably would not have been able to do if that concert had not been general admission. I was on the side of the stage, in front of a big speaker. Michael climbed up on this speaker, and I was waving at him and trying everything I could to get his attention. Even though I have never been completely certain that he saw me, I think he did, at least I would like to think he did.

My personal favorite memory/memories are from the first 3 nights of the Get Out of The House tour in 1993 in Perth Western Australia at a club called metros in Fremantle. I went to all 3 gigs but it was the third night when I got right up to the stage for the whole night, back then you could actually touch the stage. I had my hands on the stage and Michael was right there in front of me crouched down singing to us. Also during the 3 nights he was pulled into the crowd and I and a couple others helped lift him back on, he also couldn't remember all the words to Mediate so the 3rd night he asked us if we wanted to sing it which we all roared yes then he said "cause I can't f**king remember it"(exact words) and threw the mic stand into the crowd which was priceless. After the 3rd gig I waited outside where Hutch grabbed my shirt and signed it while I was wearing it as did Tim, Jon and Andrew, that is a great memory I'm thankful for. They started the tour in Perth and I went to all 3 gigs and will always be so glad I did, and man was I lucky as it was an 18+ gig and I had just turned 18 three months earlier.
There were many great Hutch moments throughout the 3 nights, but the feeling when he walked on stage the first night and it was the first time I'd seen them live was priceless and I lost my mind; when they broke out powerful heavier versions of Just Keep Walking and especially Barbarian all 3 nights it blew my mind (he said Barbarian was the first song they wrote in Perth in the late 70's so they did it especially for us), it was also exciting to hear several of the not yet released very different FMDH tracks, all 3 gigs blew my mind and he and they were on fire and brilliant!!!Posted 1 year ago # -
Hey very nice to read your words about Hutch's gigs ! I appreciate them, I couldn't see him live, so reading some gigs's memories is a real pleasure. I wish I could have seen them during Get Out Of The House tour, as FMDH is my fav' album..Well, what I can say about Hutch memories to me, as I haven't seen him live, is what happens when I listen to his music outside (thanks to mp3 ;))and the way I see the world around me with his voice singing in my ears. Magic. If I could do everything, work and so on, listening to him, I'm sure everything will be better ! :)
