A Statement from JD...
Sep 20, 2011
THANKS EVERYONE FOR BEING HERE! I APPRECIATE YOUR TAKING THE TIME TO VISIT MY SITE!
JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW PERSONALLY THAT DESPITE MEDIA REPORTS TO THE CONTRARY --- I DID NOT LEAVE INXS AND I WAS NOT FIRED.
PRIOR TO THIS SUMMER'S AMAZING TOUR, INXS AND I MUTUALLY AGREED THAT MY CONTRACTED SERVICES AS THEIR LEAD SINGER FOR THE ORIGINAL SIN TOUR WOULD END IN ATLANTA, GA ON AUGUST 14TH. WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND A GREAT TOUR AND ARE ALL VERY PROUD OF THOSE SHOWS.
NOW, AS PLANNED, WE ARE ALL MOVING ON TO DIFFERENT ARTISTIC PROJECTS. WE DO RETAIN A DEEP FRIENDSHIP AND RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER THAT WAS BUILT OVER THE PAST 6 YEARS OF WORKING TOGETHER.
TO BE CLEAR, I DID NOT LEAVE INXS AND I WAS NOT FIRED. WE HAVE COMPLETED THIS PHASE OF OUR COLLABORATION ON FRIENDLY TERMS AND WISH EACH OTHER NOTHING BUT THE BEST.
RIGHT NOW, I AM CURRENTLY DEVELOPING SEVERAL EXCITING PROJECTS AS A SOLO ARTIST THAT I HAD PUT ON HOLD UNTIL MY OBLIGATION FOR THE "INXS" TOUR WAS COMPLETE.
PEACE, LOVE AND mAyHeM -

I'm happy to hear that they decided to end on friendly terms and I respect JD for letting us know what happened. Too many fans are always quick to attack INXS when none of us will ever know what goes on behind closed doors! They all obviously realised that they had gone as far as they could together and it's better for them and JD that they part ways. I'm excited for their future with their new singer because it's the first time in 14 years that Andrew has said that song magic was in the room again and that is a major statement. I wish JD the best with his solo career, I've heard his stuff and he is one talented bloke, and I hope fans give INXS and their new singer a chance. I will never forget Michael Hutchence and his era fronting INXS will always be my favorite! I saw them together four times and I cherish those memories even though at 36 they have faded somewhat, but I started an INXS fan 24 years ago and I will always remain an INXS fan.

Wonder why he calls them "INXS"? Why the use of ""?
