"INXS with Michael Hutchence" as they were titled on the tv show came in at number 7. It was based on no.1 albums in Australia only...so INXS has only had 4...The Swing, LLT, Kick and X...Jimmy Barnes was no.1 as he has had 9 no.1 solo albums in Australia.

Kirk's ex-wife Deni Hines said no one can ever fill Michael's shoes as singer in INXS...
The Top 5 was Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, The 12th Man, Silverchair, Powderfinger...as I said it was based on No.1 album sales in Australia only.

Personally, I think INXS and Michael Hutchence outshine all of those artists, however, I guess that I do need to note that it was based purely on album sales and so it wasn't really anything to do with being 'Australia's best band'.
I would have been happy to see INXS sitting alongside the likes of Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham in the top three-- if Michael were still alive today I know that they would definitely have been up there... Rest in peace Michael.

Apart from the 4 no.1 albums in Australia...
The Years 1979 - 1997 and The Greatest Hits from 1994 both reached #2.
WTWYA was #3 and FMDH was #4...
EW didn't make the top 10 and reached #11.

It's such a shame EW didn't make the top 10. It's definitely one of my favourite albums, I listened to that one religously throughout the end of my highschool years. Building Bridges still remains one of my favourite songs ever.
