The first MTV European Awards were held on November 12th, 1994 in Berlin.  The awards were hosted by Tom Jones, with Michael Hutchence & Helena Christensen unveiling and presented the first MATTHEW award.  The award stands for M(usical) A(ward) T(hat) T(ributes) H(itmakers) E(urope) W(ide).

INXS Platinum Collection will be released on CD in stores from August 6th, 2010 in Australia.  All 16 tracks on the album are performed by the original INXS lineup with Michael Hutchence on lead vocals.  

The album includes a selection of INXS singles from 1987 – 1993, with no songs from 'Shabooh Shoobah', 'The Swing' or 'Listen Like Thieves' albums included, due to Universal Music owning the rights to these albums in Australia.

Rock legends are not dead on Classic Rock is the message behind the radio station’s first ad campaign, which launches on Sunday July 18th, 2010.

The campaign uses the names of Australia’s greatest rock musicians, INXS’s Michael Hutchence and AC/DC’s Bon Scott.

It also features Jimi Hendrix and is the first ad campaign since DMG rebadged its Sydney and Melbourne Vega stations as Classic Rock.

It was July 13th, 1991 that Michael Hutchence with INXS performed a milestone concert in their career, becoming the only Australian band to sell out London's old Wembley Stadium in front of 72,000 fans.

The concert was captured on video and was later re-mastered on DVD in 2003 with bonus features.  During the original taping the film in the cameras all ran out during the filming of 'Lately' so unfortunately that had to be left out, but on the DVD we combined the sound recording from Wembley Stadium with footage of Michael Hutchence as a tribute to him.

Michael and the band put in a top performance on the day, in what will always be remembered as one of INXS's greatest performances captured on film.  Get out your DVD's today and re-live this classic concert on the 19th anniversary!
