To celebrate the life and times of rock icon, Michael Hutchence, an exclusive viewing of rare and unseen images taken by photographer Chris Cuffaro took  place at The Gallery Soho, London between 20th – 22nd October, 2011.  Check out some images of the exhibition below.

Happy 15th birthday to Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily!

After closing down in 2007, Sydney's Hard Rock Cafe re-opened it's doors this month in a brand new location in Darling Harbour.  Now operating as a franchise, they plan on new cafes in Melbourne, Cairns and Perth, with the Surfers Paradise Cafe still remaining after it was purchased by the new franchise. 

Close to the central business district, Darling Harbour is a favourite waterfront destination for leisure, entertainment, dining, and shopping. Hard Rock Cafe Sydney has a capacity for 500+ guests and includes a lounge bar, outdoor balcony dining, and a live music space.

With its spectacular Harbour setting, Darling Harbour has many of Australia's key tourist attractions including Imax, Sydney Aquarium and Sydney Convention Centre. It is also a favourite place for Sydneysiders to spend their time relaxing and celebrating.

 
Hard Rock Cafe's retail store, "Rock Shop" is located on the ground level, as well as a store within the brand new cafe upstairs. The Rock Shop offers an exclusive range of fashion, classic tees, jewelry, gifts, pins and collectables.

There is some new Michael Hutchence / INXS memorabilia with the jacket Michael wore in the 'What You Need' video clip on display.  This jacket will also be very familar with Sth American fans, as Michael wore it on stage for INXS's concert in Argentina that was televised in 1985.  This was the infamous concert where they was a riot and police with machine guns had to escort INXS off stage during 'Don't Change'!

Also Michael's handwritten lyrics to 'Mystify' are on display.  And the INXS guitar signed by all band members including Michael, remains from the old Sydney Hard Rock Cafe.

In the years after Michael's passing, his dad Kell Hutchence would hold gatherings at the Hard Rock Cafe in Sydney on the anniversary of MH's death in November, and on Michael's birthday in January.  These were also often attended by Michael's brother Rhett.  This week on July 21st we remember Kell on his birthday…a true gentleman.

The old Sydney Hard Rock Cafe also had a mural which included Michael Hutchence painted on the ceiling in "rock heaven" with other legends including Lennon, Cobain and Hendrix and Elvis.

It was July 13th, 1991 that Michael Hutchence with INXS performed a milestone concert in their career, becoming the only Australian band to sell out London's old Wembley Stadium in front of 72,000 fans!
 
The concert was captured on video and was later re-mastered on DVD in 2003 with bonus features. During the original taping the film in the cameras all ran out during the filming of 'Lately' so unfortunately that had to be left out, but on the DVD we combined the sound recording from Wembley Stadium with footage of Michael Hutchence as a tribute to him.

Michael and the band put in a top performance on the day, in what will always be remembered as one of INXS's greatest performances captured on film. Get out your DVD's today and re-live this classic concert on the 20th anniversary!

The multi platinum selling 1987 INXS album 'Kick' has been voted #5 in Triple J's Hottest 100 Australian Albums of All Time by the public. 

In the seperate Music Industry voted poll – 'Kick' came in at #2 and 'The Swing' #26.

Far from lacking singles, the 6x Platinum selling 'Kick' album almost plays like a greatest hits today – 'Devil Inside', 'Need You Tonight', 'New Sensation', 'Mystify' plus the heart-wrenching ballad 'Never Tear Us Apart'.

Producer Chris Thomas aimed to capture the sound of the band on stage, but a quarter of a century later, there's also a timeless quality within the songwriting of Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss that makes Kick the enduring album that it is today.

The LA based agency APA who manage and control all of the late Michael Hutchence's intellectual property on behalf of Michael's Trust, have neither approved or endorsed the making of a film by the UK company known as Amazing Industries. APA have advised said company of such accordingly.

U2 paid tribute to Michael Hutchence on Saturday night (June 18th, 2011) in Anaheim, CA.  Before performing 'Stuck In A Moment (You Can't Get Out Of..)' Bono mentioned Lian Lunson, one of Michael's long time close friends who was at the concert.  Then Bono paid tribute to Michael… "And for our friend, the love of our life, beautiful man…Michael Hutchence…he loved it here…".
