"Where to start.
Well firstly I guess, HAPPY BIRTHDAY mate. Happy 50th.
And had things been different, I believe we would be together today, and celebrating your life, somewhere exotic no doubt.
Yet due to unforseen circumstances, sadly that is not the case.
And I could sit here and cry rivers,as I am now, for a long time believe me. I could. Though that does not serve the occasion, and being made of 90% water, I wonder what would be left.
I think in your passing I can also be grateful too. Not for your absence, but in the presence still felt of your being. I know when you are around, cause of your guidance I recieve, and that's a fact.
And the other hints that are thrown around, being in sight and sound, which believe me, turn up at the most oppurtune times, to remind me of you and the talent you shared.
It hasn't been easy since you left, though I know you will be happy with the changes that have been implemented in my life. And I am eternally greatful for your patience and understanding mate. I am finally doing those things you wanted me to do. Those simple things, which bring me and others joy of life. Thank you. I realise this makes you happy, in turn, myself.
I know it cannot be, though I wish that things were different. Soo much has happened in the last 12 years of which, apart from making you appalled, would equally have lifted your spirit of hope for this planet. There is still a chance for your visions mate. Hang in there.
I don't mean to bring people down with sadness, when what this is, is a celebration of you and your life.
A life lived fully, with no boundries, that took you to the most incredible places and times with some amazing people to help you with your quest.
Global domination complete, there is only the universe for you to conquer now, and that, I am sure you are achieving too.
Overlooking all with all the other stars.

That was beautiful Rhett, it brought tears to my eyes. I had the pleasure of meeting your brother once and it was a blast, when you say he lived his life with no boundries…………… well i truly believe that. Your Love and Honesty you have showed in your letter is truly brave and beautiful a brothers (siblings) bond is forever he will always be with you to guide you and love you. Be strong always and know that he will be happy no matter what you do and with the changes you have made. (sorry got a bit carried away) I'm raising my glass to Michael as we speak, lets never forget, he will never be forgotten nor will his beautiful little girl

Beautiful words Rhett. I hope you can take a little comfort in the fact that fans all over the world are thinking of Michael and what he meant to us on a regular basis not just today. His music is still played loud in my house, my children are fans of Michael and 2 of them are aged 7 and 3 and were not even alive to experience it first hand! I had the honor and the pleasure of spending a little time with your brother in September of '88, and it really is true that when his focus fell on you, it was like everything else in the world fell away. He had such an easy intensity, a natural magnetism, and an equally intense lust for life and the experience of it. There was so much love in him, and as worldly as he was, at times there was a genuine innocence in him that was undefinable. He had an understated overeagerness to please that ran like an invisible pulse in his blood; a heated wire that both fed and ate at him at once–it defied logic and reason, but it made his inherent charm that much more irresistible.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, when he left you, there was a little hole he'd made there in you that nothing else could ever really fill. And when he left everyone, that hole became irreversibly massive and gaping.
I can't help but wonder what amazing things he'd be doing and what kind of music he'd be making today had things been different. I know that, at the very least, he'd be spoiling Tiger rotten with the adoration only Hutch, as her father, could give.
I know she's loved now by those who care for her, but I I pray she knows how very much her daddy loved her too.
Thank you Rhett for those kind and heartfelt words. It isn't easy to say goodbye to someone you love but as you said this day was meant for celebration and remembrance.
