Dogs in Space House in 2010

« | »

For fans of the movie 'Dogs in Space' starring Michael Hutchence.  Here is what the house from the movie looks like today.

Situated in Berry St in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond, this house is the actual house where Richard Lowenstein and Sam Sejavka lived in the late 70's, which was then rented and modified from the owners so that Dogs in Space could be filmed in the same exact house.

Also included in the gallery is a record shop in Melbourne called 'Record Collectors Corner' which currently has a big Dogs in Space poster in the window.  Ollie Olsen actually used to work in that record shop!  Although it used to be in a different location, but was a favourite shop of mine back in the 80's.

If you could write a script for a Dogs in Space 2 what would your plot be?  Would be interested to read fans suggestions on the forum!

Don't forget Dogs in Space is now available in Australia on Blu-Ray!

Great film. Thanks for showing the photos. I was watching the extras from the dvd just last week would love to visit the house though. Richard did a real good job with the film to capture that era in Australia you could really feel it in the film. I would say this has to be one of the best films to capture the punk era. Sid and Nancy good for that era in th UK but that did not have Michael Hutchence in. Cheers.
